Heartbreak Playlist

How do y’all feel about Valentine’s Day? Not its history or any of that crap, but as it stands today?

I feel like there’s a split between people who love it and people who hate it. The actual concept of Valentine’s Day is fine I guess, as long as it’s not about fulfilling a quota for your significant other. If that’s the case, my guess is that there are bigger issues in your relationship than not knowing what flowers, candy, etc. your significant other wants. It’s my personal belief that when you feel loved every single day (including you doing the loving on you), that extra sh*t doesn’t matter and it doesn’t make or break you when the day comes.

I love themes: the colors, tastes, smells, treats and all the “stuff” associated with themed holidays.

I’ll dress is some sort of themed color, wear hearts and if I’m going to buy a bagel I make sure that sh*t is red. But I digress…

However, for someone who loves Valentine’s Day and either just went through a breakup or for some reason this day is more about heartbreak than it is about the joy of love (or whatever), February 14 might be a tough day. And for some, a good cry is cathartic and necessary. I know it is for me.

For this reason, I’ve put together a “Cry-It-Out” playlist in case anyone just needs to give in to it. This list is by no means exhaustive, but I definitely started crying while putting it together (and I’m not even particularly sad right now!)

Hopefully, if that’s something you need to get out of your system, this will help.

I’m also making a Dance-It-Out/Galentine’s Day playlist which I’ll likely post tomorrow, in case you’re feeling sassy or need a new playlist for your workout.

With warmth and gusto,
